Desde la infancia, su fascinación por la observación científica, la recolección y la experimentación sembró una curiosidad que hoy atraviesa su práctica. Formada en diseño gráfico, fotografía y música, combina sensibilidad y habilidad técnica para crear piezas que integran materia orgánica recolectada, impresión 3D, video y animación, objetos intervenidos, inteligencia artificial y sistemas interactivos capaces de responder al entorno en tiempo real.
Expuso en instituciones como Science Gallery Dublin (Irlanda), Frost Museum Miami (EE.UU.), OMSI Portland (EE.UU.), Espacio Telefónica Lima (Perú), Palacio Libertad (Argentina), Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Montevideo (Uruguay), Centro Cultural Recoleta (Argentina), Galería Gachi Prieto (Argentina), Mutek AR (Argentina), entre otros.
Rox ha colaborado con Laurie Anderson —artista norteamericana pionera en la performance y referente internacional en la escena experimental— generando animaciones proyectadas en pantalla, como parte central de la narrativa visual de ARK: United States Part V, una ópera multimedia que fusiona música, poesía, tecnología y performance, estrenada en Mánchester en 2024. Actualmente colabora también con la artista germano-polaca Karina Smigla-Bobinski, supervisando el montaje de sus obras más reconocidas en exhibiciones internacionales.
Además de su práctica artística, cuenta con más de una década de experiencia profesional en postproducción, efectos visuales y diseño gráfico para escenografía de cine, lo que afianzó su capacidad para crear entornos visuales inmersivos. Sus años viviendo en Berlín profundizaron su práctica y también marcaron el inicio de Hyphae, un dúo de música electrónica experimental y visuales en vivo junto al músico Carlos Wyszogrod.
Since childhood, her fascination with scientific observation, collection, and experimentation fostered a curiosity that continues to shape her practice today. Trained in graphic design, photography, and music, she combines sensitivity with technical skill to create works that integrate collected organic matter, 3D printing, video and animation, altered objects, artificial intelligence, and interactive systems capable of responding to their environment in real time.
She has exhibited at institutions such as Science Gallery Dublin (Ireland), Frost Museum Miami (USA), OMSI Portland (USA), Espacio Telefónica Lima (Peru), Palacio Libertad (Argentina), Museum of Contemporary Art of Montevideo (Uruguay), Centro Cultural Recoleta (Argentina), Gachi Prieto Gallery (Argentina), and Mutek AR (Argentina), among others.
Rox collaborated with Laurie Anderson—a pioneering American performance artist and international reference in the experimental scene—creating projected animations as a central part of the visual narrative of ARK: United States Part V, a multimedia opera combining music, poetry, technology, and performance, premiered in Manchester in 2024. She also collaborates with German-Polish artist Karina Smigla-Bobinski, supervising the installation of her most renowned works across international exhibitions.
In addition to her artistic practice, Rox Vazquez has over a decade of professional experience in post-production, visual effects, and graphic design for film set design, which strengthened her ability to create immersive visual environments. Her years living in Berlin deepened her practice and also marked the beginning of Hyphae, an experimental electronic music and live-visuals duo with musician Carlos Wyszogrod.
